Cooperative Living: Week 16

Ongoing Journey of Living an Activist Collective

It was a busy week! I started my second job, and am now fully employed 40 hours a week. In addition to that, I have kept busy within the activist community.

Monday evening I went to the newly formed police accountability activist meeting. Tuesday evening I went to the criminal justice task force and then to the local indigenous allyship meeting.

Wednesday night I asked the mayor to sign onto the petition to change Columbus day to Indigenous Peoples’ Day. He did not, even though I put the petition right in front of him, and then read it aloud in front of a crowded room. I got some laughs.

Thursday and Friday I worked and did something in the evenings, and then Saturday I finally got a chance to catch up on things. Sunday we were invited over to another Collective’s house for brunch and a clothing swap, and then that evening I made potluck with Carp (we made burritos with guacamole, salsa, chips, tomatoes, lettuce, sour cream (vegan and regular) and I also made scones to top it off.
